Lyle & Scott has reached its cult status with help from its celebrity following. As well as sporting personalities over the years, the brand has also been worn by pop-stars, TV presenters and even the odd movie actor!

Lyle & Scott is a Scottish knitwear brand, formerly known for golfing knitwear. It acquired a younger more fashionable following with young 'casuals' in the 1980s. The golden eagle logo has been seen sported by musicians like the Arctic Monkeys, Pete Doherty, Kasabian as well as TV presenters Tim Lovejoy, Dermot O'Leary, Max Halliday, Simon Amstell and Steve Jones.

Lyle & Scott was founded in 1874 in by William Lyle and Walter Scott. The rejuvenation of the brand can be traced back to 2003 with the launch of the ‘Vintage’ collection with its ‘Golden Eagle’ logo. It was taken up by a host of indie bands and youth TV presenters. In 2005 following the success of the Vintage range, Lyle & Scott’s first stand-alone store opened in London’s Covent Garden on King Street.

In 2007, the Lyle & Scott Heritage collection was launched, with a more discrete, tonal logo. In early 2009 Lyle & Scott launched the ‘Club’ collection, a golf line aimed at the young golfer. Lyle & Scott Vintage has now expanded to include an accessories line.
